The tones and spellings haven’t been checked by a native Thai speaker yet. Trust the audio over the letters, and expect fixes.
Hear & Choose plays a Thai word. Work out what it means in your head first, then show the choices and tap the one that matches. Start here: understanding comes before speaking.
See & Say shows the English. Say the Thai out loud from memory, then tap reveal to hear it and check yourself — including the tone. Be honest: a wrong tone is a different word.
Don’t guess. If you don’t know it, tap No idea or I don’t know. A lucky guess tells the app you know a word you don’t, so it shows it to you less. An honest “don’t know” keeps it coming back, and it won’t break your ⚡ streak.
The first time you meet a word you won’t know it — that’s fine, the reveal is the lesson. It only counts as a miss from the second time on.
LekThai is built on the two most strongly evidenced ideas in learning science: retrieval practice and spaced repetition.
Every prompt makes you recall the answer before you see it — say it aloud, or work out the meaning — instead of just reading along. The effort of pulling an answer from memory is what builds the memory; passive review barely moves the needle.
It also remembers how you do. Words you miss come back sooner and more often; words you know fade into occasional check-ins, and come back more the longer it’s been. A few focused minutes a day beats one long cram.
